Trying Out Apple Vision Pro!!!

Wonderful friday night spent with Zitao at Apple Orchard! Apple Vision Pro, as the name implies, was a visual blast! The immersive video feature was really cool, and also the ability to change the level of transparency of the background to switch between VR and AR.

However, the weight of the device is too heavy at this point of time to be used on the same level of frequency as mobile phone or laptop. Also the digital crown feels a bit out of place, as the whole point of XR is to immerse user in a unique experience (dominated by visuals), but having to physically press a specific button near one's eyes that one can not see lifts the veil on the experience. Maybe the rumoured Apple Ring willl address this issue.

It is also deeping satisfying seeing how my CS3240 project on AR UI/UX design aligns almost perfectly with the interaction design of Apple Vision Pro! The only differences are that in our design, we made the implication of certain functionalities, such as the closing button at the botton of any page, more obvious, and an additional bottom button to anchor a page to one's body so you can "carry" the page with you as you go.

Overall, it has been a wonderful experience, and I am happy to have had dinner at one of my favourite Indian restaurants nearby with my friend afterwards. Work hard, play hard!
